Duchenne Dystrophy is an inherited neurodegenerative disease and is the most common form of muscular dystrophy. It is determined by the absence of dystrophin, a protein found in the muscles. It occurs between 2 and 6 years of age, causes the loss of the ability to walk, the functionality of the upper limbs and often also involves the respiratory and cardiac muscles.
